Hear why our providers love bicycling

BayCare Clinic Bikes is a natural extension of our people’s passion for riding. Some commute to work at BayCare Clinic by bike. Many others – including our providers – enjoy riding for fun and fitness.

“It is a great, low impact way to get exercise all year round. You can get strength as well as cardio workouts as well as use your bike as a means of transportation.”

Dr. Steven Schmidt, Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic

“Whether its riding a single track, taking a long road tour or just cruising the neighborhood with my kids, I enjoy biking because it is a great way to get exercise and experience the outdoors.”

Dr. David Gossman, BayCare Clinic Ear, Nose & Throat

“I enjoy bicycling because of the freedom it brings to me. It’s a time where I can clear my head and enjoy the time on the bicycle which for me brings me back to a younger age when I first started riding bikes.”

Dr. Craig Olson, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic

“It is my favorite way to get outside, feel alive, and explore the countryside. Cycling also is a great way to get cardiovascular exercise with less of a toll on the knees and hips than many other activities.”

Dr. Zechariah Spychalla, BayCare Clinic Emergency Physicians

“I love biking because I really enjoy the feeling of freedom in the outdoors during a ride and also the sense of accomplishment once I am finished. I love knowing that I can travel many miles under my own power. Taking in beautiful scenery along the way is another added benefit!”

Dr. Mary Rupp, BayCare Clinic Emergency Physicians

“Riding a bicycle is a great way to spend time outdoors while improving your physical and mental health. When riding a bicycle, it is extremely important to wear a bike helmet as it can help prevent serious head injuries. As an avid bicyclist, I never leave home without mine!”

Dr. Richard Harrison, BayCare Clinic Neurological Surgeons

“Getting on a bike gets you away from technology and clears your mind. I love biking with my kids!”

Dr. Lynn Wagner, BayCare Clinic Emergency Physicians.

“I think it’s easier on my knees and hips than running.  It also gives me an excuse to eat carbs. It is also a way to socialize with others while going on group rides or even competing.”

Dr. Gregory D. Rypel, BayCare Clinic Anesthesia.

“It’s a great family activity.  I’ve learned to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors – especially in our great state of Wisconsin – while getting in a fun workout and spending time with family and friends.”

Dr. Jon Henry, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic.
