What conditions do gynecologic oncologists treat?

Our gynecologic oncologists treat women with gynecologic cancers as well as certain benign (non-cancerous) conditions that may require surgery. These cancers and conditions include:

  • Cervical cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Uterine cancer
  • Vaginal and vulvar cancers
  • Ovarian risk reduction
  • Ovarian cyst or mass
  • Complex endometrial hyperplasia

What treatments are offered for women with gynecologic cancers?

Treatment options for women with gynecologic cancers include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • IP therapy, or intraperitoneal therapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Robotic-assisted surgery
  • Reconstructive surgery

Almost all chemotherapies, transfusions and non-surgical treatments can be provided on an outpatient basis at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

Our gynecologic oncology team provides a multidisciplinary approach to cancer therapy. We create individualized gynecologic cancer treatment plans based on the latest cancer research and technology.

Your gynecologic cancer treatment will be reviewed by a team of experts. Each week, we have interdisciplinary meetings to review the best treatment options for the women in our care, customizing an individual plan that is best for you.

Our gynecologic cancer team includes gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists as well as other specialized physicians skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancer.

Can I have children after having gynecologic cancer treatment?

Gynecologic cancer treatments may interfere with fertility. If you wish to have children in the future, we do everything possible to honor your wishes, balancing your cancer treatments with your fertility goals. We can offer curative cancer surgery that works to conserve fertility and address quality-of-life concerns.

How do research and clinical trials affect my gynecologic cancer treatment?

Our gynecologic oncology team conducts more gynecologic oncology research than any provider in the area.
