Rejuvenate your skin with microneedling
Get a glowing, healthy appearance with Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic. Our medical aestheticians offer microneedling- collagen induction therapy services.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure where our skin specialists stimulate the growth of new, collagen-rich tissue.
Microneedling can help combat fine lines and wrinkles, discoloration, uneven skin tone, broken capillaries, and reduced elasticity. It can also help reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks and pores.
How does it work?
Over time, skin loses its elasticity. Microneedling introduces a slight trauma to the skin that encourages the growth of new, firmer and collagen-rich skin tissue.
When will I see results?
You should see results within several weeks of your microneedling procedure and continued results up to six months. For optimal results, we recommend a series of treatments spaced out over several months.
Is the microneedling procedure painful?
No. Before starting, our aestheticians will apply a topical anesthetic. During the procedure, you will feel mild pressure and minimal discomfort.
How long do microneedling treatments take?
Procedure times will vary depending on the size of the treatment area and your individualized treatment plan. Typical treatments range in length of 30 to 60 minutes.
Who is the ideal candidate for microneedling?
Individuals who are in good health and have specific skin concerns make excellent candidates for microneedling. Women who are pregnant, individuals using certain types of acne medications, and those who have open wounds or skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema should not undergo microneedling procedures.
What are the risks or possible side effects of the procedure?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure, but minor skin irritation and redness is expected immediately following your procedure. To avoid further irritation, we advise you not to apply topical creams or makeup to the treated area for at least 24-hours. Additionally, side effects including minor bleeding, bruising and peeling may occur.
