TWO RIVERS – Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County recently earned accreditation for hip and knee replacement for the tenth consecutive year.
Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic’s team of orthopedic specialists provides some of the first-rate, highly-skilled expertise that has contributed to a decade of Joint Commission recognition. The Joint Commission, a top American health services accreditation organization, approved the hospital’s accreditation with a gold seal of approval for hip and knee replacement. That means the hospital has demonstrated the highest quality standards in healthcare for people with hip and knee issues.
The Joint Commission evaluated four performance measures before accrediting Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County – regional anesthesia, post-operative ambulation, percentage of patients discharged to home and completion of a pre-operative health assessment.
The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
