GREEN BAY – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College instructors Jodie Breidel, Kelly Guyette and Barb Peters were honored on Tuesday with individual awards from the BayCare Clinic Foundation board.
They received the BayCare Clinic Faculty Professional Development Award of the Year for their excellence in instruction, innovation in education, commitment to student achievement, advancement of curriculum and devotion to the health care profession.
The award funds professional development opportunities for outstanding nursing and allied health professionals to enhance instruction. This is the eighth year the foundation has given the award.
“We are pleased to offer financial support to these well-deserving educators within the health-sciences program at NWTC,” said Dr. Joseph Hodgson, president of the BayCare Clinic Foundation. “This support will ensure that these honored educators are provided an opportunity to enhance their teaching by exposing them to the latest in professional development. That, in turn, will benefit the students they teach and mentor.
“Congratulations to all.”
Each of the recipients will receive up to $2,000 to attend a national health conference. Breidel is an instructor in diagnostic and medical sonography. Guyette is an instructor and a surgical technologist. Peters is an instructor in practical nursing.
The BayCare Clinic Foundation has pledged to contribute $10,000 annually to the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Educational Foundation. These funds are used to support the BayCare Clinic Faculty Professional Development Award and for nursing and allied health professional development projects at NWTC.
