Local emergency medical services providers visited Aurora BayCare Medical Center on Tuesday to wish Dr. Steve Stroman a fond farewell.
Stroman, an emergency medicine physician with BayCare Clinic for more than 20 years, retired Tuesday.
“It only took the pandemic to have me step aside,” Stroman joked.
EMS leaders from Ashwaubenon, De Pere and the Fox Valley were among those at the brief send-off event.
At the conclusion of Tuesday’s gathering, Stroman departed in the EAGLE III helicopter.
Stroman is one of the original members of BayCare Clinic, having joined in 1999. He has served Aurora BayCare and Aurora Health Care locations in Green Bay, Oshkosh and Two Rivers.
Among his many achievements, Stroman has the distinction of becoming the first physician in northeastern Wisconsin to obtain board certification in emergency medical services by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
