Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic is using telemedicine visits to provide care to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With social distancing widely recommended during this world public health emergency, telemedicine visits are a safe, secure, common-sense approach to receiving orthopedic and sports medicine care.
What are telemedicine visits?
Simply put, telemedicine visits are video chats in real time. These visits can be done from home, from work, or anywhere you have the capability to connect using a desktop or laptop computer, tablet or smartphone with a connected or built-in camera and microphone.
During a telemedicine visit, you’ll see your Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic provider, talk to him or her, discuss your orthopedic health concern and hear their thoughts. Your provider can see you, too. Patients and providers can ask questions of each other. At the end of the visit, you’ll receive a treatment plan from your provider.
How do I know whether a telemedicine visit is right for my concern?
Start by calling one of our main offices during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
- 920-288-5555 in Green Bay

How are telemedicine visits scheduled?
When you call, the Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic staff will listen to your concerns. If a telemedicine visit is appropriate, we’ll schedule that. If it’s best that you come in to be examined in person, we’ll schedule that, too.
How does a telemedicine visit work?
Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic uses Doxy.me, a secure teleconferencing service. Does insurance cover telemedicine visits?
Medicare, Medicaid and many commercial payers have expanded access to care by reimbursing for virtual visits, given the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, coverage and reimbursement vary by plan. To confirm coverage based on your insurance plan – or for questions regarding your insurance company’s virtual visit coverage – please call the number of the back of your insurance card.
