GREEN BAY – Take a few steps to help raise awareness for breast cancer. That’s the message from BayCare Clinic in support of the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, presented by the American Cancer Society.
BayCare Clinic encourages its patients and their families, its employees and their families, and members of the community to join the event at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 17.
“Participants walk to celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors and caregivers, educate the public about prevention and detection to reduce the risk of the disease, and raise funds to help end breast cancer,” according to the American Cancer Society’s website.
It's mostly a do-it-yourself event. Participants are encouraged to join at whatever distance best suits them – on a local trail, on a treadmill, around the block, with a pet – however they enjoy walking.
Those interested in participating are invited to register with the Aurora BayCare Medical Center team. It’s free. Donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
